Ms. Shaila Crasto

She has recently joined SAKHYA since July 2015. She has completed her Masters in Social Work from College of Social work, Nirmala Niketan. She has worked with the tribal’s in Raigad while being associated with the Nirmala Institute in Kolad, Roha Taluka , for six years.

For 10 years she worked in rural Gujarat in the mission stations. She has good Public Relations’ skills is adept in rapport building. She is efficient in community organization skills and has good communication skills.

Mrs Shalini Jadhav

She has graduated in Arts and has to her credit 8 years of experience of working with community based groups. She has a knack of working with people at the grass roots as well as working with the systems. She is attached to Sakhya since the last three years and is an efficient administrator.

She loves to increase her knowledge by reading books, novels and poems and also loves to watch television. She had good PR skills and is easily able to connect with the women in the community.

Ms. Aruna

Aruna has completed her MSW from Tilak Vidyapeeth, Belapur. She has worked as a community organizer and supervisor in YMCA. She has also worked in Wadia Hospital as a Counselor on the family planning program. She has a knack of relating with the community, can easily build rapport with the community women. Presently she is placed in Sakhya – Thane Civil Hospital as a Social Worker.

Ms. Mary Vanmali

Mary VinayakVanmali has recently joined SAKHYA since February 2016. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’sDegree in Social Work from Nirmala Niketan College. She has 8 years of working experience with different NGO’s. She has worked as a coordinator with children projects on Adoption, Education and Child right to play.

She has worked as a manager on HIV/AIDS project with female sex worker. She also had experience of working as a training officer at All India Institute of Local Self Government to represent State training Resource Center (STRC) at state level, guided by National AIDS Control Organization. She enjoys listening music and watching T.V. She is enthusiastic to learn new things.

Adv. Vidya Suresh Patil

Educational Qualifications: B.Com; M.A (Socio); L.L.B (Mumbai University); Dip. In Therapeutic Counselling (Nirmala Niketan, College of Social Work).

Past Experience: 20 years’ of experience in the Development Sector - with projects by Nirmala Niketan, College of Social Work like Sakhya, Setu; Practising as a lawyer since 5 yrs at High Court, Mumbai; as visiting lawyer at Prajodaya Community Centre, Jogeshwari; as Counsellor & Legal adviser at Chuim community center; and since 2004 onwards involved in enactment of regulations for the betterment of Domestic Workers.

Interests: Dancing; Singing awareness songs; Travelling; Reading

Ms Parvati Dadoda
       Office Assistant

Parvati has been working with Sakhya since a year and more.  She is a member of one of our support groups from the neighbouring mahila mandal / SHG communities in Nala Sopara.  She is committed and dedicated to her work.

Ms. Neeta Chavan

She has completed M.A in Sociology and Master of Social Work from S.N.D.T Women’s University. She has worked with women and children in several organizations while doing her internship and has knowledge about the issues of women. Presently she is a counselor in Sakhya – in Thane Civil Hospital.

Jemma George

I have completed my post graduation degree in Masters of Social Work from Nirmala Niketan College of Social Work. Work Experience - Over 30 years of counseling women prisoners, rehabilitation of women prisoners. I have experienced of working with Persons suffering from HIV/AIDS, worked with Substance abusing patients in collaboration with Mumbai District AIDS Control Society (MDACS). I have even helped women in distress in different forms, women abused by own family & relatives. I was hostel warden for working women in Delhi and Abroad (10 years).
